Compensation

All Graduate Assistants (GA’s) receive a tuition waiver and are compensated with a monthly stipend. Minimum compensation rates are dependent upon GA classification, program level, and nature of the assignment.

Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, and Pre-Professional GA’s are paid a monthly stipend.

Interested applicants should refer to the Graduate Assistant Handbook for specific information relating to eligibility, academic load, employment percentages, and stipends.

Illinois State University paydays are at the end of each month. Please refer to the Payroll website for more information, payroll and tax-related forms, and a calendar of pay dates.
