Adjuncts and Volunteers

Adjunct Faculty Classification

Adjunct Faculty are unpaid faculty members appointed by the University to provide support services related to teaching, research, or public service. Adjunct Faculty members are considered Non-Tenure Track Faculty and are always non-union. Please refer to University Policy 3.3.4 for more information on Adjunct Faculty.

In order for an Adjunct Faculty member to begin providing his/her services, the following documents will need to be completed and submitted to Human Resources:

An individual can be considered an Adjunct Faculty member only if approved by Human Resources after all of the required conditions are met. The individual may not begin providing services in his/her Adjunct Faculty capacity until these documents have been submitted to and reviewed and approved by appropriate Human Resources personnel.

Volunteer Classification

Volunteers are individuals who willingly donate their services to the University on a part-time, temporary basis with no expectation of compensation. In order for a volunteer to begin providing their services, the following document will need to be completed and submitted to Human Resources:

An individual can be considered a volunteer only if approved by Human Resources after all of the required conditions are met. The individual may not begin providing services in his/her volunteer capacity until this document has been submitted to and reviewed and approved by appropriate Human Resources personnel.
