Illinois State University has a two part orientation program for new employees. Part I is a Benefits Orientation and Part II is a University Orientation.
Part I – Benefits Orientation
Benefits Orientation is conducted on or near the employee's first day of employment. It covers information necessary to expedite benefits enrollment within required timeframes, as well as other information necessary for employees to get off to a good start at Illinois State. These sessions are facilitated by Benefits Counselors and are regularly held on Monday mornings. The agenda for Benefits Orientation can be found at: Benefits Orientation Agenda.
Benefits orientation is scheduled during the initial onboarding process with Human Resources. Benefit packets that include forms and information needed during the Benefits Orientation are also distributed during the initial onboarding process. The Benefits Orientation resources can be found at these links:
The All About ISU orientation includes an introduction to the University's culture, mission, vision, values, and traditions. These sessions are facilitated by a team of individuals selected for this purpose that represent a variety of areas on campus. The agenda for the All About ISU orientation can be found at: University Orientation Agenda.
The All About ISU orientation will typically be held on the last Thursday of each month and will include employees hired within that month. This session will be scheduled during the initial onboarding process with Human Resources. Seating is limited for these sessions. Dates for this orientation can be found here.
