Orientation
Illinois State University has a two part orientation program for new employees. Part I is a Benefits Orientation and Part II is a Faculty or Staff University Orientation.
Part I – Benefits Orientation
Illinois State University's Benefits Orientation is an online experience intended to cover information necessary to expedite benefits enrollment within required timeframes, as well as other information necessary for employees to get off to a good start at Illinois State. These sessions are complemented by Benefits Counselors who hold regular open-houses for in-person questions and answers. The Benefits Orientation information can be found on the HR website here.
Part II – New Faculty Orientation and University Staff Orientation
New Faculty Orientation is offered during late July and early August prior to the start of our academic calendar. Resources and information about workshops, materials, and attending in-person or virtually can be found at the Center for Integrated Professional Development.
The All About ISU University Staff Orientation includes an introduction to the University's culture, mission, vision, values, and traditions. These sessions are facilitated by a team of individuals selected for this purpose that represent a variety of areas on campus. The agenda for the All About ISU orientation can be found at: University Orientation Agenda. The All About ISU orientation will typically be held on the second to last Thursday of each month and will include employees hired within that month. Scheduling for this session can be accomplished through your department's/colleges employment consultant.
