Compensation

Student employment positions encompass a wide variety of jobs across all interests, skill levels, and time commitments. All student employees are paid by the hour and earn at least minimum wage. Many positions offer opportunities for advancement in both responsibility and earnings.

Student employees have the option of using Direct Deposit. If this option is not selected, a paper check will be issued and must be picked up in Student Accounts.

International Students

All international students who receive a temporary Illinois State University identification number from International Studies must obtain a Social Security Number (SSN). The student must contact the Social Security Administration office to obtain the SSN before a paycheck can be issued. Upon receiving a SSN, the student must notify the Registration Office of the SSN to ensure their paycheck can be processed.
