Administrative/Professional appointments are primarily for the purpose of support for the area of instruction, organized research and public service.

Civil Service

Civil Service positions are governed by the State Universities Civil Service System. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to perform by passing a test.


Student postings offer a large variety of jobs, on or off campus for currently enrolled work-study and non work-study students.

Non-Tenure Faculty

Non-Tenure Track Faculty appointments are any Non-Tenure appointment, for the purpose of instruction, organized research, public service in one of the academic (credit hour producing) departments and related areas.


Faculty appointments are any Regular Tenure-Track appointment, ranked or unranked, for the purpose of instruction, organized research, public service in one of the academic (credit hour producing) departments and related areas.

Faculty Associate

Faculty Associates are elementary and high school teachers who hold appropriate K-12 certification and teach at the Illinois State University Laboratory Schools, Thomas Metcalf (elementary) and University High School.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Assistantships are intended to facilitate progress toward a graduate degree.
