Faculty Classifications

Faculty is defined as a qualified individual teaching a course for credit or supervising student teachers during their practicum assignment.

Tenure/Tenure Track Faculty

A Tenured Track faculty holds rank within a department and follows the Appointment Salary Promotion and Tenure (ASPT) Policies. These individuals hold full time tenured or probationary appointments with the rank of instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, or professor.

Non-Tenure Track Faculty

Non-Tenure Track faculty is defined as having primary responsibility in classroom instructional duties and includes student teacher supervisors who have the primary responsibility to augment the curriculum where knowledge of professional practice is essential, e.g., practicum supervisors.

Non-Tenure Track Job Classifications

Most Non-Tenure Track faculty are represented by the Non-Tenure Track Faculty Association (NTTFA).
